I am first and foremost an artist. Always have been. I drew cartoon characters as a child, designed logos as a teenager, and studied interior design as an adult. I have since turned my sights on photography. I picked up my first SLR in 2005 and fell head over heels in love with film and the black & white darkroom. There is something magical about the way an image is 'born' as it swims in the developer. I find the darkroom is a place where I can truly lose myself.
In 2007 I purchased my first digital SLR (also a Nikon) and have since developed skills in digital post processing. While I'll admit it's not as awe inspiring as the darkroom, it's not without its charm...and convenience. Most of my work is digital nowadays, not because I prefer it that way, though.
My work leans towards the structural, the static and the oft times dark and melancholy. However, I find a sense of humour in every image I take and I hope you do too.
