Thank you for visiting. When I was a young girl, I'd bring my sketchbook to the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo, to draw birds, bears, elephants, and everything else. Thankfully, my parents encouraged me to keep drawing. I still enjoy painting, drawing, and sculpting all breeds and types of animals.

While our daughters were young, I participated in the Fred Oldfield Western Art Shows with other local western artists. I learned alot from them, but it was hard to be away from home so much. How could I show my art, and be a stay at home Mom, too? The internet provided the answer. In 1996, I posted my drawings online as Stacey's Free Online Horse Coloring Pages, on my domain, AWhiteHorse.com. Today, awhitehorse.com's coloring books are enjoyed all over the world.

My equine artworks help support several horse rescues, and I'm always sharing art with my followers on Facebook and Twitter. Illustrator for the Arabian Horse Registry of America; Arabian and Morgan art and sculptures for The Pacific Morgan Horse Show, The Egyptian Event West, and many works in private collections.

Shaunee The Trail Companion

June 12th, 2012

I was chatting to Leslie Coey today, a friend from my youth, and as we chatted I began to draw this image of her Morgan/Tennessee Walker mare, Shaunee. She had a long blaze that began small, and ended up broad and covering most of one side of her nos...

Thoroughbred Racing Dream

June 28th, 2011

I continue to enjoy drawing wonderful, fast sketches of horses. This drawing is of a Thoroughbred or Arabian fantasy race horse. I grew up reading the Thoroughbred of California, and The Maryland Horse, among other favorite horse magazines, and racin...

Drawing Faces of Horses

June 6th, 2011

I always enjoy studying the faces of beautiful horses. Can you see the three horse faces here? This is probably my favorite way of drawing them; with the Chrome app called, "Harmony". Following the planes of their faces in a gesture drawing, enhanced...

Prancing Arabian Horse

May 2nd, 2011

In between checking my Facebook pages, or my email, I'm always drawing or painting something. Lately, that means I'm playing around with the "Harmony" art and drawing tool in my chrome browser. (See, "http://mrdoob.com/projects/harmony/"). It's prove...

Harmony Add on for Chrome

April 27th, 2011

The Google browser Web Store, "https://chrome.google.com/webstore?hl=en-US" is featuring some of the most fun, easy to use, and inspiring artist's software programs I've ever seen. They reside in your browser, but you're able to use them when you're ...

Digital Art Software Thoughts

December 3rd, 2009

I'm continuing my software experiments through the holiday season. There are more good digital art creation programs today than just a few years ago, and many more programs than I found, (or could afford,) 14 years ago. Working with Adobe PS is truly...

ArtStudio Success

November 2nd, 2009

Well, working with ArtStudio (http://www.drawinghand.com/) has become easier each day. I have found myself using the blending tool more each time. This is the black "unicorn" with "bat wings" I painted for Halloween. As you can see, instead of missin...

New ArtStudio Software

October 16th, 2009

I'm excited to see more art and illustration software available. I remember ten years ago, when there were only a few choices, and most of them were incredibly expensive. Of course, my favorite for many years has been Adobe and theGimp, but there isn...
