My painting adventures began with a 2012 house decorating project that I tackled at my husband's encouragement, a 4'x5' acrylic. Afterward, I very loosely mixed the leftover acrylics for use as watercolors. Later I experimented with watercolor pencils, but I currently use Maimeri Blu watercolors from tubes.
Iíve painted a fairly wide variety of subjects, but for the moment my primary focus is on the poured watercolor technique, so well done by Linda Baker and Leslie Redhead. I enjoy painting's quiet rewards: visible improvement, achieving a desired end product, adding beauty to life, and blessing others with gifts of the creativity that flow out of how God made me.
Cats have been a special emphasis in the past; I love them! When I was a child (and always small of stature), my dad affectionately referred to me as 'Mouse' or 'Miss Mouse'. Consequently, there's a rather warm spot in my heart toward mice, too, and I enjoy incorporating my little pink, signature, toy mouse into my cat images. But the dogs have their own special item, too--a little colored ball, which sneaks its way into the dog paintings...
