Stephanie Bolton is a third generation artist from the Big Island of Hawai'i. Her paternal grandmother was a muralist, Maternal grandmother was portrait artist, her father is an architect & sculptor, and her mother who loves several artistic disciplines owned & operated several professional art supply stores while Bolton was growing up. She was born eating breathing paint- she continues the creative tradition of her family as a professional artist.
She has studied in Santa Barbara, California & Orvieto, Italy and her BA in Fine Art. She has worked in Fine Art Galleries since the age of 17. She has taught Art at both private and public high schools.
She is also a Belly Dance enthusiast & instructor who teaches several classes each week.
She won judge's first choice in the Kona Coffee Art Contest in 2010 and second place in the Kona Coffee Label Contest in 2009. She has illustrated books, designed embroidery for linen & garment lines, created logos and labels for commercial use, but predominantly creates custom original artwork for individuals.
Her work is shown in Divine Goods Hawaii: Boutique & Gallery, Holualoa Gallery, Plantation Living, & Kohala Coast Fine Art Gallery in the Kings' Shops Waikoloa Beach Resort. You can find her work adorning some local island restaurants including Annie's and La Bourgogne.
Her artwork has also been featured in Belly Dance Magazine, Yallah, Culture Flux Magazine, Somerset Studio Magazine, The Real Word Hawaii, FUSE: a tribal and tribal fusion magazine, Big Island Weekly, West Hawaii Today, Honolulu Weekly, Webzine De La Danse Orientale, I am Enough Collaborative, and several issues of At Home Magazine; Living with Style in West Hawaii and Zaghareet Magazine. Her portraits of belly dancers will be illustrating an upcoming book 'BellyDance for the Versatile Dancer: vol.4' from ZD Publishing.
