I am a recently retired professor at a college in Toronto and taught critical thinking and communications. In the past I also taught literature, creative thinking and problem solving.
I've also had the opportunity to teach about and lead tours to a variety of world destinations including backpacking through the Canadian Rockies, traveling above the Arctic Circle in Norway, into the Sahara in Morocco, and throughout Southeast Asia with a special focus on Thailand. But it was my four tours to India that formed me most profoundly, both as a person and as a photographer. It is a magic land of extremes in every sense of the word. More recently I had the opportunity to expand my world view with travel to the Peruvian Andes.
I have always been partial to landscape photography, but capturing the people and street scenes of distant lands has been as important when I had the opportunities. Presently, I find myself increasingly interested in the more artistic side of photography and am exploring pans, overlays, and fine art images. My present equipment includes a Nikon D90 and a variety of lenses.
Two of my images from India were featured in the June 2008 issue of PCPhoto magazine. Recently, one of my images was chosen as First Week Winner In the Nikonians Newcomer Contest, and I have received a number of winners, finalists and photo of the day awards at

Please feel free to contact me if you see one of my images that you would like in a different style, in B&W or more painterly for example. I will gladly discuss your needs. I hope you enjoy my work.
