Susan Harris - Fine Artist
Susan J. Harris, born in Bristol, Virginia, has been a resident of North Carolina since 1971 and calls North Carolina home. She is currently based out of the Greater Piedmont area, along side her husband, John, and close to their two grown children. Her eight years of art education consisted of five years of formal training and three years of private instruction by a professional artist. She continues her art study as opportunity permits. Over the years Susan has produced art work in various mediums and although she especially enjoys working with stained glass, sculpture and pottery, her preference is acrylic abstract mixed media.
She begins with color and texture, applying layer upon layer, taking the initial inspiration in an ever-evolving direction. Each piece becomes an exploration of identity, capturing mood, layers of emotions and the subconscious with the purpose of evoking the viewer’s own interpretation.
Susan has exhibited in juried shows and various galleries throughout the state and her fine art is in private collections throughout the US and Canada.
