Drawing and painting since the age of six, I have always been involved with art in one way or another. My mom (Arline Wagner) is an accomplished artist as well as my brother (Neil Blender), and their successes with their art have been inspirational for me.
As a senior in high school I was super lucky to have been awarded two scholarships to the Pasadena Art Center College of Design where I got to attend four hour classes on Saturdays throughout the school year where we would draw from live models wearing costumes or bathing suits. It was probably one of the funnest art experiences that I've ever had, and it was a great intro to life drawing.
Initially, I wanted to be a fashion illustrator, but I got sidetracked with this and that. Over the years I have taken a variety of classes ranging from drawing, painting, ceramics, and printmaking to stained glass, photography, computer graphics, and art history. And although Iím more of a graphic artist after years of classes, and doing freelance work, I have recently gotten back into fine art with my glue art metallic mixed media pieces, mixed media fabric women, and monotypes.
