Suzanne has been an active artist since early childhood. She was awarded an art scholarship upon graduation from high school in 1967. She has studied drawing at Cornish School of the Arts, and film making and mass communication at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, and at Emerson College in Boston. She has presented in multi-media at MIT, and at Moebius Arts Collective in Boston, Mass.
Her interest in visual and dream symbology led to a study the Tarot and of Jungian psychology and eventually to a Master's Degree in Social Work, by way of her desire to help others in therapeutic exploration of the dream imagery. She received an MSW from the University of Washington in 1994.
While pursuing her career as a therapist she had an epiphany, abandoning the field of psychology to become a tattoo artist. She has been tattooing full time since 1995, and has been co-owner since 1997 with partner Andi Lineweaver, of Primeval Ink Tattoo located in Olympia, and with a location also in Monroe, Washington. Suzanne and Andi have been training other artists in the field since 1999.
Suzanne has never lost her love for painting, returning more and more to that medium. Her work does not usually reflect the styles currently popular in tattoo-related art, but follows similar themes, such as tree of life, hearts and cave art and horses... She also enjoys digital augmentation of photography, and otherwise 'painterly' photographic images which are often blurry and strange.
Suzanne lives on a farm with her partner and 2 cats, 4 dogs, 5 pygmy goats, 40+ chickens, ducks and geese, and two elderly mares one of whom is almost totally blind.
