Hi everyone! I am a 34 year old mother of two beautiful children, living on the west coast of beautiful British Columbia in a teeny tiny town called Hagensborg in the Bella Coola Valley. I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil, and painting seriously for about six years. I took some fine art education in University, but they all just wanted me to learn how to paint like them, and I just wasn't interested! I attribute any technical skill I might have to my high school art teacher, Steve Mills, who is an excellent artist in his own right. The rest of my knowledge came from reading and studying some of my favorite artists, such as John Singer Sargent, Robert Bateman, Carol Evans, Jeremy Lipking, just to name a few. I am currently working on a few illustrated manuscripts that I wrote for children, which I hope to get published in the future, and painting whatever the spirit moves me to paint. I work mainly in water-soluble oil, the solvents are just too much of a risk to my kids. They work just about the same as regular oils, but dry faster and clean up with water, it's great! I also work in acrylic and watercolor for my illustrative work.
I am currently seeking gallery representation, but have to travel very far to the next biggest town than mine!
