A Signature Member of the Alaska Watercolor Society, I have attended workshops with Teresa Ascone, Pat San Soucie, Don Kolstad, and Michael Schlicting. My work has appeared in juried shows, won a variety of statewide and local awards, and appeared in many group and solo shows in galleries, hotels and coffeeshops.
I paint in water media, primarily watercolor because I love its spontaneity. Living in Alaska, I am surrounded by majestic scenery. While it influences my painting, my work varies--from landscapes to still lifes or florals with the occasional abstract work depending upon how I respond to the subject. I find art a way to look more deeply at my surroundings and try to capture the sense of delight, the warmth of sunlight, the mood of a scene, or the glow of colors as I experienced them. I hope I am able to convey my impressions to viewers.
