Artist Statement
Exploiting a sharp wit and humor, vibrant color, cartoonish iconography, and combining aspects of commercial art experience, stories about people or events are packaged into a succinct visual statement. Visual statements that exploit and sometimes abuse vibrant color, incorporate cartoonish iconography and the ever wonderful pun.
I am under the influence of a Sixties Latch-Key Kid youth, the musings of Stephen King and Hunter S. Thompson, pop culture (culture?), Warhol and Lichtenstein, Speed Racer, television commercials and consumer product marketing, Mad Magazine and Eastern Philosophy.
Biography
San Francisco Bay Area transplant living in Los Angeles since 1980.
Did not attend art school, but did attend school of hard knocks.
(A school I can't manage to graduate from!)
Entered into the world of commercial and graphic arts in 1987.
Been stirring up conversations and laughter ever since.
