I was born in San Jose, California in 1953.   In 1954 we moved to the suburbs of Detroit Michigan.   We moved again to the suburbs of Chicago in 1956.   Due to my Dad’s employment, we moved to Pennsylvania in 1959, so I have lived Penna. in since then.   I grew up on a small farm in Pennsylvania and was inducted into the National Honor Society in high school.   I was on the Dean's List a few times and earned my degrees in biology and natural science at Muhlenberg College, a small liberal arts college in Allentown PA in the mid 70s.   The art...more

Decorative Artistically Enhanced Antique World Cartography

Every image has been processed to produce the highest quality, clarity, and resolution I am capable of producing with my laptop computer. I am primarily limited by the resolution of the image I have to work with. Due to multiple health complications and medical expenses, I cannot afford an expensive camera at this point. I do not have access to high powered, cutting edge computer equipment and expensive cutting edge software. These images are the highest quality I can produce. With that being said I feel these images are quality art and at a very reasonable price. Anybody that gets bent out of shape over this full resolution preview has Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and needs to see their psychiatrist! If you want something more sophisticated you will have to shop around. Perhaps you may prefer original paintings that go for $5,000.00 - $25,000.00. Or more sophisticated photos taken with a $7,000.00 camera that go for $10,000.00. I have several satisfied customers with realistic expectations and they have never mentioned any problem with full resolution imaging. I would like to get a high resolution camera for my art, but that is just not possible at this point. If it comes within my reach in the next 2 - 5 years, I will go for it. Thank you for your interest in my art. This is collection of decorative antique world maps from the 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries that have been digitally enhanced for artistic effect. The primary focus here is on the beauty, detail, color, contrast of colors, lack of accurate geographic knowledge, artistic qualities of the map, and the "Old World" atmosphere created where they are displayed. There is also a distinct contrast of these antique world maps with the digital artistic imaging technology of today. This art would be perfect in any professional, office, college, library, hotel, restaurant, business, tavern, or domestic setting.
