In one way or another, over the whole of my life pictures and words have been and continue to be my passion. They can send my pulse racing or stop my heart. A painting by Van Gogh, a photograph by Stieglitz, a drawing by Jack Kirby. Stories by Milan Kundera and Michael Chabon. A well turned phrase by Oscar Wilde. The mythic future history in Asimovís Foundation Trilogy. In my own meager way I try to emulate these artists with my photography and my writing.
My favorite photographic subjects are the human form, urban landscapes, parks and gardens, animals, and street scenes.
My work has been published in several photography books, and I sell a fair number of my images as gallery prints from my photography website.
Sad to say my photographic tools are increasingly digital, although I still maintain a darkroom at home and own several film cameras that I canít bring myself to discard. But in the last few years I have been developing digital techniques to replace the advanced darkroom skills I developed earlier in my career as a photographer.
My photographic studies have been at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.
