About Thomas Schoeller

A Gallery of Fine Art & Nature photography by Thomas Schoeller. We meet the needs of the Art buyer!

PRODUCTS...........

FRAMED & MATTED PRINTS: The print process on paper, framing and matting are an artistic skill unto themselves, I do not handle that part on my own. I employ the skilled print lab at Fine Art America's North Carolina facility to assemble, frame and mat my clients purchases . This allows me to concentrate on the photographic and artistic creativity of my business.

We provide you with several Fine Art paper choices of museum grade archival quality print papers. We also provide you the option to order CANVAS PRINTS with several options to finish off the edges of your prints!

METAL PRINTS: are the worlds finest and most dynamic way to display Fine Art photography. The artwork is durable and provides vibrant colors, brilliant luminescence and exceptional detail! I generally allow my FAA partner facility to print METAL prints purchased via my 'shopping cart' to sizes no larger than 36' to 48'. For larger METAL prints, I do prefer you contact me direct as I am very particular about the quality my clients deserve. I am personally able to provide you with many more style, mounting and display options than the FAA print facility can handle including:
- Rounded edges - Standout and Bamboo Mounts - Double Float Metal Prints - Exhibit Mounts - Float Frame Hangers - Additional Custom Sizes

I do invite you to contact me direct to discuss any options, or answer any question you may have. As a matter of fact, I highly encourage it! Rather than just simply adding a print to the shopping cart, I can help guide you to assure that you get exactly what you desire. You can contact me DIRECT, right here from my on-line Art gallery, or contact me through our official homepage website at www.ThomasSchoellerPhotography.com

Use the CONTACT tab in the drop down menu

THIN WRAPS! This is a new, stylish way to to display Thomas Schoeller Fine Art prints on your walls! This is not a product available through my FAA site (here) rather you should inquire to me direct. I can match any size you find in my galleries, you choose to print on Canvas, metallic, or Lustre surfaces. A 1/2' mounting block is attached to the back of the thin mount print for wall mounts. The total thickness of the artwork is only 1'

SIGNED ARTIST STATEMENTS: Thomas is happy to provide you with a signed artist statement upon request with any 12' or larger art purchase. We believe your Fine Art purchase is an investment to be enjoyed for decades and having a signed Artist statement is a form of a 'Certificate of Authenticity' to preserve your investment. Use the CONTACT link near Tom's profile photo and tell us with the title(s) of the artwork purchased and a mailing address. We will cheerfully mail you statements at no charge.

ABOUT: Tom is a freelance professional photographer of Fine Art and Stock images. A lifetime naturalist, he loves the outdoors and feels a responsibility to use his skills to create awareness of our treasured resources and scenic landscapes. He specializes in scenic landscapes, nature, abstract and semi-abstract in nature. Thomas creates unique and expressive landscapes with a style all his own. He resides in the scenic Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut. Capturing the essence and pace of time, his native New England makes up a large volume of his portfolio.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION: Tom is an alumni of the 'New England Photographers Guild' writing published articles from November '12 until May '14. The Guild's members shared a passion for the New England region. Tom authored 6 published articles during his tenure, having volunteered his services to help arrange art shows, define the Guild's direction and support many members with his own fine art marketing skills. Tom stepped aside from the Guild to devote more time to market his own business more efficiently and outside of the scope of Face book, and pursue more frequent opportunities to photograph the wilderness and natural features of the Western USA and Canadian Rockies.

Commercially, Tom also is an artwork provider for several fine products distributed and sold globally. Notably, he has licensed to 'White Mountain Puzzles, Inc.' They are the leader in high quality jigsaw puzzles and distribute worldwide. To find Tom's New England themed artwork as an attractive puzzle just go to WhiteMountainPuzzles.com In addition, Tom recently licensed his artwork titled 'PRIDE' to 'Wood Inked', which creates beautiful products on wood with a unique application process. Wood Inked distributes to numerous high end retailers with a reputation for quality. Tom's artworks are licensed for use on Fine products sold in retail locations like Crate & Barrel, Nordstroms, Pier 1 Imports and Pottery Barn.

WORKSHOPS and SLR TRAINING: Tom offers workshops for those needing to learn the basics of fundamental D-SLR function, and also conducts advanced nature landscape photography technique workshops for those seeking to take their photography to a higher level. For more information please refer to the official homepage website.

PERSONAL STATEMENT: My goal is to create original Fine Art Photographs. I believe firmly in 'Quality over Quantity' and meeting the high standards set for Fine Art Photographers. The process is characterized by attention to detail, deliberate actions, and being observant to capture the scene in appropriate lighting. Each artwork is a composite of technical excellence and artistic inspiration. I do not allow the camera to make decisions for me. It is a mechanical device that does not express my passion or feelings for the subject.
Capturing the key ingredients of a dynamic composition is quite exhilarating. An interesting subject, dramatic lighting and visual impact are what I seek out. The images I create share my unique personal vision for the subject before me. I am in awe of nature and deeply influenced to connect with people through my photography.

STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY REQUEST: Photography is both a passion and a business for myself. I am a 'rights managed' photographer, meaning I represent my own work. I price and negotiate all of my license agreements. I respond to inquires cheerfully and diligently when I am approached in a professional and courteous manner. I create contracts that clarify the specific use based on your needs.

*Note* Requesting use of my original protected images in return for a 'photo credit' is NOT considered proper on any level. It is unprofessional to request this from any Photographer. Photography is a profession, and I am a Professional. It's not to be confused with those who take snapshots as a hobby or on vacation, including point and shoot or cellphones. Owning a camera does not make one a photographer more than owning a wrench makes one a qualified Plumber.

My rates are fair and affordable. When inquiring about licensing any of my artwork, you must provide me with very specific details about your project or publication. Thank you for your patience.

Photo Of The Day From Acadia National Park

New Preston, CT - August 9th, 2012

A new addition to the Galleries of Thomas Schoeller has just been announced. Aptly titled "Magical Light" from the scenic coastline of Maine's Acadia National Park. The sheer 110' drop of Otter Cliffs are visible in the backdrop as a long exposure of the pounding surf on the cobblestones of Boulder beach capture the ethereal movement of the ocean. The rare occurance of alpine glow transforms the scene to an epic landscape. The cool blues of twilight juxtaposed to the warm diffused morning light as they radiate off the pink granite just add to the drama. This is definitely one scenic landscape that deserves to be printed on Metal. Metallic prints can transform the brilliant luminance of the scene like no other media. Also be sure to check out the all new Gallery dedicated to Panoramic landscapes!

For this article, the magazine contacted professional photographer Thomas Schoeller about some work he created that caught the eye of one of the magazines editor assistants. The image depicts a portion of the "Old Town-Key West" neighborhood along Caroline Street bathed in the soft warm glow of the setting sun before it dipped below the distant horizon. The photograph was brought to the attention of Managing editor Suzanne Pettypiece, and within a week it was decided as the center spread for pages 54 and 55.
