Timothy Chambers - Fine Artist
Timothy J. Chambers loves life! He considers it a privilege and blessing to be an artist, and painting is an avenue of great joy as he paints the unique people and places he encounters. It is also his greatest challenge to assimilate and capture what lies before his eyes, a task which he approaches with much respect and humility. He enjoys teaching as well, finding it a pleasure to spur others to the use of their gifts and opening their eyes to the beauty before them.
Tim was fortunate to train in the tradition of American masters, receiving his early art instruction form his father, distinguished painter William T. Chambers, and later pursued over ten years of apprentice studies with some of America’s best painters, including Richard Lack, Henry Hensche, and Cedric B. Egeli. Through these apprenticeships and personal studies, his work is influenced by such painters as Chase, Hawthorne, Fechin, Sorolla, and Zorn among others. Their work, plus the European masters whose work hangs in museums, continue to inspire him, along with the works of his artist friends and peers..
Tim is intrigued and awed by Creation, its beauty and color always a welcome challenge to capture on canvas. Tim considers each day a gift, an opportunity to share with others the beauty and wonder of the world and the people whose path he crosses. His work is featured in collections in the United States and Europe. Tim paints and teaches in beautiful rural Virginia, where he lives with his wife and children.
