Tina Barnash

I learned how to draw at 13 years old when my mother, an art teacher & local artist, suggested that I do so for a Science Fair experiment in school. The experiment was 'Drawing is a Learnable, Teachable Skill'. My mother taught me how to draw in 1 school semester, I set up my display showing the difference between pictures I drew of my hand & certain objects before & after she taught me how to draw. My mother & I enjoyed the time spent together, the project got me to the regional Science Fair in Grand Junction, Colorado & I enjoyed drawing so much that have continued to do so ever since!

I picked up interest in pastels, pen & ink, watercolors & later on, graphic design & airbrushing. I completed 1 year of Graphic Design & Commercial Art at Trinidad Junior College before returning home to start a family & settle down. I began breeding Shih Tzu (the furry little 'Ewok' looking dogs) after I had my first child & have found it to be very rewarding, however, I have continued with my artwork throughout the years, finding that I love to build website sets & do graphic design work, enhancing my drawings.

My interests are sort of eclectic; I love to fish & camp & explore in our surrounding mountains, always with my camera in tow, so I have had the opportunity to collect a large number of scenic & wildlife photographs over the years, I love furry little Shih Tzu puppies and, being a breeder, I have captured dozens of adorable Shih Tzu puppy pictures, I am partial to dragons, fairies, butterflies, pretty much anything 'fantasy' orientated & have drawn several tribal line designs of such subjects, & I also love to make 'food art' with my daughter, we enjoy baking festive cakes, cookies, chocolates, etc. for the holidays & special occasions.

I find it very rewarding being a work at home mom, being able to be available for my family, while making a living providing things that make other people happy too!
