As an educator for over twenty plus years, I've taught on the East coast, New Mexico, with the majority of my experience on the West coast. I find special satisfaction in connecting and achieving success with inner city students where many of their families struggle to make ends meet and to get their children to class. Although; not an art educator as my specialty, I truly believe that there is a connection between art, learning, and healing. I recently lost my only grandchild to cancer right before his fourth birthday on May 18, 2012 at 9:07 a.m. On May 21, 2012 I found myself in a local art supply store buying paint and various art supplies, and I don't even remember how or why I was there in the first place. Prior to this tragedy, I had not been involved in painting or art for years due to pursuing other interests. Through my painting I have been able to get through the worst periods of my grief. The brighter the colors, the better I feel which therein is expressed through my artwork. As George Braque states, 'Art is a wound turned into light.' My art accentuates that light and is created by the grace of God to enlighten, inspire, and uplift the wearied spirit. My work is presented here to uplift, motivate, and inspire you, which is my measure of success. If you purchase any pieces, that's just a bonus. Paintings larger than the sizes offered are by request right now so please email me. Many thanks to FAA for providing this avenue for artists all over the world to present their work.
