The plein-air oil paintings of Tom Martino, inspired by the light and color of the rugged New England coast, are eagerly sought after by numerous collectors. His impressionistic yet representational interpretations blend tonalist with colorist techniques . Each painting, whether tranquil or festive in mood, invites the viewer to share in the artist's unique celebration of color and light.

His art education began (1981) with his first teacher in oils, P. Corso, and has since included workshops and courses with major artists such as Ted Jacobs (France), Daniel Greene, David Leffel, and Charles Gruppe. He has also studied abroad at the Art School of the Aegean (Samos, Greece) and at the LaRomita School of Art (Terni, Italy). In addition, he has painted internationally at sites in France and Spain.

Tom teaches painting workshops and conducts demos in portraiture at local art associations. His memberships include the South County Art Association (Kingston, RI), International Plein Air Painters (IPAP), and the American Impressionist Society.
