I guess you could call my Photography 'Rural Minimalist'. Most of my photos are of simple things you see everyday and though I have a complete studio set up I seldom use more than an on board flash. I prefer natural light. It portrays things as they really are and although I do edit pretty heavy in Photoshop I try to get the feeling in my photography the day I took the print. I also tend to print most of my stuff a little on the darker side to bring out as much color and saturation as I can.
I miss the days of dark rooms, chemicals, and seeing a print emerge from the bath and become alive right in front of you. But today I can edit my photos in Photoshop without having to run test strips on exposure. dodge certain part or burn in with a cardboard with a hole in it to hold back light in some areas.
I wonder sometimes what Ansel Adams would think if he saw some of the work done today by people like Art Wolf. Both are great artists, but so different in there approach to photography.
