Valerie Meotti

I am a self taught artist who explores many different mediums. My career in the graphic arts and printing have influenced the mediums that I utilize today. Mixed media works encompass watercolors, digital transfer and collage. I incorporate my own photography and a transfer technique to create digital mono prints. They are each a one of a kind and believe me the process is not exact or always successful.
The textures of nature and antiquities of past are what intrigues me. My imaging attempts to let the viewer find a familiar symbolic gesture which can bring you into the piece to find more. I am not an artist that wants to make a political or social statement, there is enough opinion out there. I rather enjoy, just creating an image that looks pleasing, something you could live with every day and get enjoyment from. I find myself constantly experimenting. I am a true Gemini in that I bounce around in styles. Someday I will find my true voice whether you hear it or not.
I have shown in Chelsea and around Long Island. It is very hard these days to balance a job and the time needed to succeed as an artist. I am always interested in graphic design and looking for freelance work.
This site is a great way to get feedback on your work without having to haul stuff all over. I welcome your feedback.
