VANESSA HADADY is a third generation classically trained painter who began practicing formalized painting in 1974. She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico. There, among several scholars, she studied under Gene Frumkin (poet), Joel-Peter Witkin (photographer), and Thomas Barrow (photographer) while sitting in critiques by Julian Schnabel (filmmaker/artist) and the late Joan Brown (artist). Ms. Hadady has received recognition by the National Museum of Women in the Arts Archive on Women Artists, Washington, D.C. In California, she has shown in Berkeley, San Francisco, Silicon Valley venues, Davis and central California delta areas, while having pieces in private and corporate collections. During years 2010 and 2012 she entered works into competitions and won sweeping regional class/division awards. Her watercolor 'California Valley' was scheduled into the KVIE Art Auction 2010 (Sacramento Public Television) with an on-air time that opened the three day event from September 24th thru 26th. Her work “brookside” quickly eclipsed other artist works, including internationally recognized artists, during the KVIE Art Auction 2011. She released her first art book during July 2011, currently offers four art books and began e-commerce publication of her practice book, “Painting Fundamentals” during early 2013. During 2010, one of the artist's quotes was included in 'Art Studio Door Signs' by Jerry Saltz (T. Ward, ed.). During early 2013, she wrote, produced, and directed “The DownTown Gallery,” an 8-minute video short that features her principal studio gallery. After being named Official Artist of Residence by the Miracle Mile Improvement District in 2012, in early 2013, she was named Visual Arts Chair by the Stockton is Magnificent, Inc. not-for-profit organization. She is a member of Art Expressions of San Joaquin, a cooperative of central valley California artists of diverse disciplines. The artist paints annually from spring through fall.
