My interest in art began at a very early age as my mother was an art teacher. I went to art shows with her and sold my first painting at an art show in Pisgah, Alabama when I was 16 years old. I still have the receipt for that very first sale. I graduated from Auburn University in 1973 with a BS degree and later graduated from The Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nuclear Medicine Technology in Atlanta,GA. After moving to Atlanta, I continued my interest in art and joined the South Cobb Arts Alliance as well as attending art workshops.
At the Sweetwater Valley Fine Arts and Crafts Festival in Mableton, GA, I won a 3rd place ribbon in 1988 and 1990 and a purchase award in 1991.
In the Annual Georgia Agriculture Day Contest, I won Honorable Mention in 1993, and a third place ribbon in 1994 and 1995.
After living in the Atlanta area for a number of years, I have now returned to my roots in rural north Alabama where I reside with several cats, dogs, a cockatiel, and my God given love of art.
Like my mother, my art reflects the beauty of nature and much of it is reminiscent of days long gone by and a simpler way of life. So, as you view my art, take a stroll through the countryside and maybe a detour here and there down memory lane and ENJOY!
