I painted all the art on the site with watercolor, acrylic, oil pastel or with digital software on the iPad. I started by taking a drawing class as an adult at the Silvermine Art Guild in New Canaan, Connecticut. I was unaware of the long and respected history of the Guild when I signed up for the course. My teacher graduated from Yale with a Masters in Fine Arts... She thought I was awful...! By the end, she thought there might be a glimmer of hope. Luckily , she only told me this at the end of the course.
After reading many art books, I started with watercolor. I made that decision because it was easy to clean up and did not smell like a paint factory. It seemed like a practical decision but I soon learned how messy and difficult watercolor can be.
My job allowed me to travel, luckily, enabling me to see many of the great museums in the world. At local art fairs, the talent of the artists always amazes me. It makes me appreciate how even the great artists must have struggled. I enjoy going to the local art co-op just to look at the paintings and the techniques. I always learn something.
