I am a 'self taught' artist. I believe my interest in painting began with my father, who was a sign painter. As a boy, I would watch him for hours, impressed by how he was in complete control of what he was doing. Eventually, I started doing some signage on my own. Soon I became bored with making very straight lines, and using very few colors. This is when I began painting on canvas. I worked in a steel mill for 33 years, so painting was a hobby, and still is, a very serious one.
