'Ever since I can remember I have been drawing: on the margins of school textbooks, on cardboard boxes, on a loose sheet of paper while on the telephone... I did not receive any formal education in the Arts. My creations are mainly my own images and ideas, driven by the inspiration to depict timeless moments in the lives of the people of my country. I want the onlooker to pause with me in awe at the charm and intensity of our virtues and sense of belonging that are, like our God, ever present in our lives. Although we sometimes feel delivered unto less favourable times, I want to involve the viewer in all the good that belongs to us, so that he might cherish it, too.
May I add - the era I favour most painting on is the late 1800's /early 1900's...so romantic, the way people dressed, the sceneries. Also an exciting time in the Arts with the Impressionists confusing the critics and having the world in awe at their courage to shed many of the don'ts in painting.
