When I was 19 I took a trip to the shore in Jersey and I saw someone there doing the speed spray paint art to sell to onlookers. I was fascinated by the method. When I went home I was determined to give it a try so I went to the store bought some spray paint and some poster board. 3 hours and 10 failed attempts later, like most teenagers that try something but do not achieve perfection in the first try I gave up.
Fast forward 19 years later. family, career, bills, etc. I wake up one Sunday morning with a nascent dream still rattling around in my head. I get dressed, grab the keys and head off to Home Depot, Hobby Lobby and Walmart. 3 hours later I have completed 3 paintings with impressive results.
So its been 2 years and I have seen some remarkable improvements to my skills and imagination. I have had the honor of showing my work in a few galleries the past year and i look forward to showing more. All the time I have been painting I have been saying to myself, 'I wish I could paint for a living.' I am proud to say as of today I am realizing that dream.
I look forward to this new chapter in my life and I hope you will share in it with me.
