About Yolande Havenga
Yolande Havenga (Stewart) was born on 6 April 1975. I grew up on a farm in the Klein Karoo, South Africa. I find beauty in the simple things in life, love animals and nature and prefer a simple lifestyle, close to nature.
I started painting in 1997 and completed a Distance learning College Art Diploma in 2001, which taught me the basics of art. Thereafter self-taught (an ongoing process, because I am constantly trying to improve). Until 2009 painting was only a hobby. In 2010 I began to exhibit my work on the internet and at exhibitions in the George/Mossel Bay-area, South Africa.
I believe painting is a culmination of an artist`s life experiences and because every person`s experiences and perspective are unique, every artist`s paintings are unique. I paint my reality, scenes from my everyday life, and issues that are on my mind. I love to do portraits, pet portraits, landscapes, still life etc.
