Zelde Grimm left home when she was 17 and spent most of her adult life hitchhiking around the country. She’s joined a couple DIY circuses, learned to play a few different instruments, and met many amazing and interesting people. She stopped creating visual art while on the road and for years focused more on music. But her love of the visual arts never really left.
These days she’s settled down. She’s moved back to Vermont where she is working on making her art her life and her work. She believes wholeheartedly that her main purpose in this world is to share the way she sees it by creating as much as possible.
Zelde Grimm creates dolls, fascinators, pen & ink drawings, whatever strikes her fancy, and cheap art!! (for those of you who wish you knew what cheap art is, check out the cheap art manifesto from the Bread & Puppet Theater: www.aisling.net/bus/cheapart.htm)
“I love to make commission pieces, too. It’s a lot of fun to stretch my creative taffy by making dolls to other people specifications, rather than my own.” – Zelde
