I captured this little ladybug on some forget-me-not flowers while out on a garden walk. It had so much light and contrast in the colors that I knew I had to paint it.

This small Falcon frequents our area in Nova Scotia yet migrates south. His direct look called out for me to draw him. The conte (harder chalk in small sticks) seemed like a nice way to capture his texture while working with a limited pallet.
