I fell in love with Marthas vineyard and its diverse towns. Menemsha seemed so unchanging and timeless no matter what. We sat at a tiny restaurant overlooking this view and I thought enough of it to make a sketch that turned into this painting.

I painted this scene this summer at Lambert's Cove, on Martha's Vineyard, MA. There is a unique light there that glows on the sand and the dunes.

This is Monhegan Island, looking down onto the village from the lighthouse and onto the "hermit Hut" on Manana Island in Maine, USA. It is a mecca for artists to go to. Now I know why: Every place you go is a perfect scene to paint!
