Altoconista mission and ruins is a Pilgrimage stop just outside San Miguel in a small village. I have painted here many times so decided to push the colors to be more pastel and I think it works!

La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel is in the Plaza Principal, or Jardin, was painted the day after "Meeting in the Jardin" and was also pleine air. I painted this in the morning as the sun was just hitting the top of the Cathedral.

I have been experimenting with monocromatic setups. This one is all in the red, orange,peach,with black and white.

There is nothing like painting home grown roses. These are so full blown and the stems let the heavy heads flop every which way so you get more movement than in store bought roses.

This painting is all about the light falling on the fruit and some flowers but not all. Also I wanted to emphasis the textures of the paint in the highlights.
