“Wanderlust” is a word often used to describe award-winning artist Kristine Scharf Kainer. Born in North Carolina, Kristine led the lifestyle of a typical military dependent. Her father, an officer in the United States Marine Corps, was transferred frequently throughout the East Coast. As a result, Kristine was exposed to the inherent beauty of each locale in which she lived. The family eventually settled in the Washington, D.C. area where Kristine happily immersed herself in its natural and cultural diversity.
