THEN AND NOW THEN My fashion adventure began on my 8th birthday. Receiving a sewing machine launched a never ending love affair with fashion. The first step was doll clothes, and then came my clothes. The retail store offerings had no pizzazz! The buyers only purchased ”safe” styles, nothing that would be considered “Out of the Box”! Cher was the “Queen of Fashion” as far as TV was concerned. I started making and selling knockoffs of the clothes Cher wore. Popularity of my fashions grew. A Country and Western Band asked me to make them fancy “over the top” Western shirts. Then came another request and another order, finally I found myself as a costume designer.
