Hello everyone, back in November I knew America's Got Talent was coming to New Orleans, Louisiana and I pre-registered for the audition. Well, to my surprise the producers of the show contacted me by phone and informed me. They had canceled the appearance here in New Orleans. My audition was scheduled for December 8, 2012. Well, I pre-registered and my audition in front of the producers of the show is Friday 15, 2013 for 3 pm. Because I work at a university here in the city, I informed the personal office and told them about my audition. They asked was I going to play the piano, and I replied no, I am going to sing Bring Him Home from Les Miserable. They informed me the uiniversity has had successful employees who went on to stardom... One of the chef's within the company I work for at the university he was a winner on the Iron Chef, last semester one of the students at the university won Big Brother reality show. This yours truly will go all the way and win the million grand prize. I had dream I had made it to the finalist and the show came to New Orleans, Louisiana during the finalist segment and a parade rolled through the university and I was so excited I woke up from the dream and didn't know if I had won the million. So, because of fate I am going to give it all I got.
If I make it to Hollywood I plan on my weekly selections of songs to revolve around my 50 years of photography. Because of Susan Boyle of Britian's got talent, if I make it to the finalist I will request to do a duet with her. This is the year the old man wins America's Got Talent........
Yesterday, was our monthly employee meeting, and I performed for them 60 aprox, in the grand ball room without music. Well, to my amazement, when I hit the final note the entire room rose to there feet and I received a standing ovation,, and the applause lasted about 4 minutes. I was informed I had individuals in the room crying my performance was superior. Next week I perform in front of the producers of the show, I will in a week update this post I have had no formal training, and my bio speaks of some of my other talents.Cheers, Michael Hoard

I have never been so excited, all the employees at work are extremely excited for me. I have nothing to loose, I took the day off next week. The only thing I am not certain about do I want all my friends to be in the room while I audition. Or go in and then surprise them when I come out....

Thanks everyone for the encouragement, Jackie, Daniel, Judy, Kim, Jannie, Penny, I declare all of you my offical fan club. It will be a fun day, and I have made up my mind to have my friends stand behind me in the audition room. They have heard me sing and are rooting for me. As I told everyone its what the producers are looking for the package and I am sure I can pull this off. And if I don't all that matters I gave it my best shot and had fun along the way.

Great Idea Judy, so much going on right now, today is Lundi Gras here in New Orleans, Louisiana day before Mardi Gras, its raining but that will not stop the festivities unless extreme severe weather. The PR at the university made a video and she said it was a bit garbled I have not seen it yet, but will post as soon as she emails it to me. thanks Judy,

Hello everyone, thanks for all the good wishes and support an update, tomorrow for my audition if selected by the producers of the show, a live performance will be performed in front of the judges here locally in March in front of the three judges of America's Got Talent, from todays news producers were quite impressed what they have seen through out New Orleans, Louisiana during there presence during Super Bowl and Mardi Gras. After carefully reading the full contract anything brought to the program becomes there property. What I may do if selected is take some new local shots of the city if I am allowed to choose one of my performing numbers "Do You Know What It Means, To Miss New Orleans", then I will not have to release my original photos from my 51 year archives.

Hello everyone, here it is an update, I arrived at the convention center earlier with friends other where there waiting for me.....there where no long lines I did wait a couple of hours inside though. And just like other America's got Talent promos when they visit the different city's well I will be seen in one of them doing a souther second line dance around the musicians who were playing a guitar and the other two where playing the washboard and metal service tray. I asked my friend Deborah did she have a handkerchief and i jumped into the action of things.....well the one segment had completed and they where going to start filming a second....the british producer in her accent, where is that gentlemen with the scarf and who was dancing she liked that....get him back here....I did inform her it was not a scarf, and the dance is called doing a second line...well we all where informed we should know something in three weeks and the judges on the program will return to New Orleans, and competition is begin....I am not certain but they may even do the first show live from New Orleans, The next venue is going to be a major arena herer in the city, I would think there is going to be a live audience......
After the program we went out for drinks, and then on to my friends Deborah 's popular restaurant located in the upper garden district here in New Orleans, LA to my surprise she asked if I would perform live for her guest which was at capacity....I did get everyone to be quiet...and when I made the announcement, they broke out in thunderous applause....I sang the song and thunderous applause once again....I had a great evening and hope I do make it to the second round of competition. I will keep everyone informed.....Cheers, Michael
