About Favorites

Is there a limit to the number of work that I can mark as my favorites? I mean, every so often I find myself going thru my own and deleting some...not because I like them any less, just because I've been trying to limit my page number to 10 pages of favorites, but is this necessary? Do other people limit the number of favorites they have for other people's work? Is there a limit that we should know about? Should I only have 4 pages of favorites, etc, etc. Thanks. Just curious.

Hi, Megan,

As far as I know, there's no limit on 'Favorites'. I have many, and sometimes like to just click through them. I'm not sure why you'd want to limit your pages; that's never even occurred to me.

The images I Favorite are ones I deem exceptional -- the ones I'd love to own. I can't imagine ever culling them!

oh and favoriting your own stuff - there is very little point doing that. it's meant for other people's work.

There are some who have no favorites at all. of other people's work or of their own. I do have favorites that are mine, because of things which happened in creating them. Sometimes it's an experiment or a challenge I've tackled, and it's simply a place to store these apart from the " profile images" and galleries, for reference,. when you have a lot of different works..

I've favored and followed various people, and from time to time I've had to delete them; because they are no longer producing new work, produce to much, have changed their focus / subject / etc. So, ... it varies... for different reasons as a storage place.

Hi Megan,
Theres no limit in favoriting other artists works.
Actually I treasured some of them, specially artist that I had favorited and they had passed away.
Despite of just knowing them and thier works through this site (FAA) it feels as if you've known them personally.
Only like/favorite works that really interests you. Specially art pieces that may be related to what you do.
Or what you create. Getting ideas from them. I repeat getting ideas and not copying them.
For me when I favorited a work/works of an artist I keep them. Because I like them a looooot!

Thanks for your comments. I just wasn't sure if we were limited in some way or another. I had heard once some months ago that you were supposed to favorite your own work just to get it noticed or at least counted once in a search. I read it here on some thread that's why I had done it each time I uploaded something new. There was a period in time when something of mine would have NO VIEWS at all for months! But that stopped once I did favorite something at least once and it was the past thread that had told me to do that.

Megan, I thinkyou are confusing the Vote button with Favorites. You can "vote" on your own photo. Votes are supposed to help with the searches.

if your not getting views it means your not doing anything to get views. advertising is mostly what you have to do. enter things in groups and contests, etc. people don't just stumble in, since the search is sorted by popularity, the longer you wait on getting views, the less likely you'll be found in the search.
