Limited Times Promotion

Posted by: Andrew Read on 09/30/2013 - 1:55 PM

Does anyone else have many sales with the limited time promotions feature, I sold 2 in august which is the 1st using that in 2 years...I promote them on fb, twitter and google + it is a shame the limited promotions only only print on canvas so it could be a drawback for certain work like sketches.

I sold one in May but no luck since then despite promoting them daily via twitter. I even tried one - at a very reasonable price - to give all the proceeds to the Salvation Army for Colorado flood victims, promoted it, had friends on here promote it, and still no takers (it expired yesterday). It was an image I've sold to many travel magazines and websites too - so not really sure about the limited promos but I still keep trying.

Good luck!

I've had a little luck with coupons but just a couple sales where they helped. Have they worked for you?

I have never sold an LTP but I keep trying.

I sold 3 of one image in December, but I had the price really low. It's hardly worth it....but it's a sale!!!
I would like it a lot better, and I bet a lot of others would, if you could use custom sizes. A lot of times there is too much cropping to use the standard sizes.
But, I can understand why FAA doesn't offer custom, I'm just saying it would be!

I've tried three times so far, and it does not even pull in any hits. Actually the hits on those items I put up drop drastically.

I agree with that Barbara that the cropping is quite bad, on nearly all my images it will crop out the signature and cut off the top and bottom of an image and you can only set it to one size if you use the promotion. Where are a customer might not want to stick with a set size.

Good luck Theresa, I keep trying too.

Good news for your sale Marianne, I haven't had to much luck with coupons. Not sure if customers are actually looking for special offers or just see something and decide to but no matter what the cost is. Would be interesting to know.

That is strange Dan, especially having the hits drop. I'll have to look at my promotion images to see if I get the same.

If we could just have a little control over what part shows in the crop instead of being center

cropped that would help. I have sold 2 but back when my prices were a lot lower. I added

3 yesterday to pay with it but who knows if thy will sell. Would be nice to know how many

visits we got on those and not just the art to see if they are alt least being looked at but the

promotion itself,.

I've actually just started trying this. (about a week) No sales yet!

I've sold quite a few. Andee, I have re-cropped images specifically to sell as a LTPs. For example, after this sold (not as a LTP)

Art Prints

I re-cropped to this

Photography Prints

And sold a few of these as LTP's.

i think more generic things sell there. like nothing very specific. i may try again with up coming abstracts to try it again. i just have so many other things to do right now.

It would be nice if they were set up like the greeting cards so that we/they could reduce the image to fit into the canvas space...wishful thinking I guess!!!

I hadn't tried one for a long time but thought I would this week. No sales and it expires tonight.
