We Need Html In Descriptions

I'm editing some images to specifically fit the phone cases available on Pixels.com. However, because these images also show up on FAA we really need a way to point visitors to the Pixels version. It looks silly to have these phone-case-shaped images on FAA with no phone cases to buy. I'd like to be able to put a link to the phone cases in the description but, of course, the link doesn't work. What's worse is they can't even copy and paste the link since copying is disabled. No one's going to bother to type in the specific pixels.com url to that image. So being able to add the link would be nice. Or, better yet just go ahead and add the phone cases to FAA and when they click it they'll be taken to the corresponding image on Pixels.com.

I think they had issues with spamming code in the description in the past, which is why there is no html allowed in the description.

I have been using HTML in the descriptions on other sites for 7 years. They could be used to link to galleries or similar images. Buyers on other sites say they use them. Some people even use small thumbnail links to other images. I put something in the suggestion box a couple of weeks ago. Maybe you could do another and ask for HTML coding.

Jeff is correct.

Sean removed that ability some time ago and, because of what occurred at the time FAA was penalised through Google. If I recall correctly it was alerting Google to a virus.

My suggestion to Crista is to use a shortened URL to Pixels.com that can be more easily copied and pasted.

If we are not going to have HTML coding we should at least be able to link to similars and galleries. There must be a way to allow internal links. They are the most effective marketing tools. How do you think people can sell stock images in a sea of millions of other images? Right now there are only gallery links if you started out in a gallery. It makes having galleries not very useful if you can't link to then from the images that are in them.

We'll have to wait and see what possible alternatives, if any, the new roll out brings.

Yes, I can put "go to pixels.com" in the description and 'pixels.com' is easy enough to type that people might do that. But they won't necessarily know how to find my same bird painting (or whatever) on Pixels.com that they liked on FAA. If they have to go search for it they probably won't bother or may not be able to find it. If I put in a full URL like 'http://pixels.com/products/apple-chickadee-iphone5-case-red-crista-forest-iphone5-case-cover.html' then no one is going to type that out by hand....if they even see it in the description in the first place. Most likely the casual visitor will just become puzzled by seeing a phone case image with no option to buy anything, and move on. Personally I think they should just add the phone cases to FAA. Visitors to Pixels.com can buy prints from FAA as well as phone cases so why not use FAA to promote phone cases on Pixels.com as well?

Hi Crista... It's only right click that is disabled.. Ctrl C works fine.. I'm sure if you explained this within the description area then folks would happily copy and paste links! maybe.... :-)
