Image Size For Digital Art

Hi. New guy here. I have read on this forum that an image for upload should come as close to 25MB as possible to ensure quality. I make digital art and at 5000px x 4000px the average size of my files are around 2MB at 300dpi. I know I could upload a test image to see what happens, but thought I would ask you guys first.

Please chime in with your experience! Thanks very much.

Hi, Dan,

It's about the resolution (your 5000px X 4000px), not the file size. As long as your file is less than 25mb, has not been enlarged, is in sRGB or AdobeRGB color space, and is jpg or png format, you should be good to go.

(Hope I didn't forget anything.)

Best of luck! :-)

Edit -- I'll add that my own files range between 1.5mb and about 23/24mb. I always use .jpg in sRGB.

My digital abstracts Digital Abstracts by rd are usually 4000 x 4000 or 4000 x 6000 at 200ppi. I upload them in .png because I find that the colors (and I've had a few printed on canvas and metal) look better in that format. I also save them in .png format
