Messages With Gifts

When I buy one of my own totes as a gift and have it sent to someone, how do they know who it is from? Will the return address be mine or FAAs???

i can't imagine why it would be your address if it came from FAA. i don't think there is a way to drop ship it as a gift, unless i guess you get a card and add some text to it (forget if we can do that).

Well that dampens my want to buy my own stuff and send as a gift. I guess I have to wait until I think she gets it and text her. She will wonder who the heck sent her a gift.

though don't take my word for it, i never bought anything from this place.

i know in another store like this one that uses the same place to print at - they didn't even put their own address on it. and when a customer got that image, the only person they could contact was my mother because he name was on the image. so since its coming from the same place, i'm guessing we don't get that option, but maybe yes?

Just tell her a gift is on the way...then she'll have something to look forward to.

Good idea Melissa! Just another step though. I'll do that.

With prints, there should be a packing label but it will say Fine Art America on it even if you order from your artist website.

The pillows I've gotten had the same packing label but from what I've read on the forum the textiles like pillows, totes, etc. sometimes arrive in a box bereft of any identifying info. So it doesn't appear to be uniform with that vendor. There may or may not be anything in the package but it won't have your name on it even if there is.

Like Melissa said, let them know a gift is on the way. It will only have your name on it if you ship it to yourself first and mail it yourself.

Thanks Mark. That would require two shipping costs though.

BTW, the quality of the beach towels, beach bags and totes is very good.

Shirley - I was well aware that would require double shipping. It's just the only way you'll have a personal touch if you want it. I should add I've always shipped items to myself first even when they were gifts. It feels weird to me personally to drop-ship a present unless the shipping cost is huge. My Mom has gotten plenty of directly-shipped gifts from friends over the years with no idea who sent them, so I know it's one of my quirks to dislike it and not a general problem. LOL

Otherwise, Melissa has the best suggestion, mail it directly and tell her a surprise is coming. :-)

PS It's worth putting in the suggestion box again (I know it's been asked before) to allow a gift note to be sent with orders. Not just for our benefit but if customers want to order a gift and send it directly, the option to include a brief note would be helpful.
