What Can Be Said For Inactive Sm

A reasonable theory about being inactive on SM, just some of the SM you might be using.

I use some social media very actively. Others sit their with the masses of members coming and going.

What does a member do if they find your inactive profile?

Often if it is only your art on there, they will Google you to know more.

Not always, but you give your self a shot with no effort.

In my case the first thing people generally see when Googling my name is my FAA profile.

I google my name and my profile image is first but just goes to no matches, but lets one shop FAA

Several of my other works do too, especially if you delete them, but I never deleted my profile pic and I'm quite active???

And since we can't control our pixels AW shop tab, I often feel it's becoming more like more wasted time.

So active or inactive-What's the difference???

When I search "David King Studio" my BlogSpot blog comes up first followed by my AW. When I search my alter ego's name the FAA profile, then my Pixels profile then the Twitter account then a bunch of links to pinterest pins come up which typically just go to general Pinterest searches based on the content of my pins. I'm seriously considering deleting my Pinterest account for that reason.

Edit: I looked at it closer and twitter is the second result in alter ego search and Pixels is third but it's not to my profile but rather a search by artist name. The Pinterest links actually go to pages full of my pins so I guess it's worth it to keep Pinterest.

I am thinking of deleting my Houzz account because is the second listing as a search result very often.

But in reality I have no clue if people on Houzz see it and come here. Some might again with no effort from me.

Interesting G+ is now part of the search results on the right hand side.

I can see how dormant channels can still be beneficial for you or any of us.

You've done pretty well getting your visitor count up, which social media channels do you feel you do best on?

Can you outline on how you managed to build your audience on those channels?

Outside of a direct search for your names as it is spelled, do you market your artwork to art buyers who don't know to search for your name?

A lot of FAA members don't have your visitor count and it would be nice to know how you did it, unless this isn't the thread for it.

@ Mike Breau - you and your images show up as expected, mixed with some other stuff as often happens in Google.

Pedro,

Not really the thread. I recommend Pinterest. Or at least that is my current focus.

I have had focuses on FB, Twitter, Tumblr a bit, WP, IG a bit, Houzz a bit, Flickr a bit,.......the point is as the masses who belong to any of those stumble across me from time to time they do not need to know my name first. Occasionally a member from different SM will Google my name right off the bat, unknown.
