Thank you Dan for sharing and thank you to all the great fine artist photographers on FAA!!! I wish I had half the talent as the photographers here I couldn't capture photos as well as the professionals here so I dearly respect all of them on FAA and those that share things such as this!!!!

That really was well done--portraits are really slices of life, and this drove home that point. Made me a little weepy. LOL

I know, Christi. . . it goes from wherever you are now to "pass the Kleenex" in just over 2 minutes. That's ART.

My apologies Dan -- thought we were discussing video art. My video I'd posted IS very disturbing --part of a larger, commissioned documentary -- intended as reflection of the tragedy that was that woman's life.

No Carmen. We're discussing Timothy Ryan Poe's "Video Portraits", which is lovely and poignant and completely finished. What possesses people to completely wreck the mood by throwing in an unrelated, disturbing, incomplete animation?

Human error, likely. Completely missed the notion that a specific genre was the focus.

The animation, in itself, is not incomplete. Part of a larger body of work.

She was adding to the conversation...which appears to be video portraits. I don't think her post was unrelated at all. And that is a complete video. I agree, they are not in the same ballpark...but that's only because of how different they are....

I would presume that you do things exactly as I would Dan. My respect also extends to you. Professionally and personally...I think you are great...but you are rough in conversations sometimes. I'm not trying to tell you what to do Dan, live as you will. I was pointing out that I don't think it was Carmen's response that ruined the mood of your thread...it was your response to Carmen.

But since you asked....it would have been something like this.

My intent on this thread was to show the art of this person and discuss it, even though I didn't ask for people to refrain from posting work, would you please remove your video? Do you have any thoughts on the video of Timothy Poe's work?

Ya, she may not have liked being asked to remove her response...but at least that wasn't insulting her work...and it was inviting her to continue in her participation of the thread.

I don't know if you actually wanted to know how I would have handled it...but there it is anyway.
