A week into learning this process -- I'm chronicling this journey, in part, so that a year from now ( or less ;)
this primitive start will be fun to look back on.
I've recorded this in HD -- you can select quality of playback via the icon you see lower right screen of the video
Hi, Carmen...
Great beginning... will watch your progress
ZBrush is a cool program... I use it at times
I also use Sculptris, (from the makers of ZBrush - a free program, not as complex as ZBrush)
With it, you begin with a default sphere
Not to hijack your thread, but thought I would post examples... the video doesn't show the sphere, but starts soon after
Hope I am not intruding... This digital sculpting is great fun
Early start on a little digital sculpting... haven't messed with Z Brush for a while... getting reacquainted.. might do him full figure - - testing, testing, 1, 2, 4... 8^)
Very incredible software... I haven't scratched the surface yet

Looks fantastic Nate --Zbrush is a phenomenal resource & I completely agree about just scratching the surface. Been deep into it a couple of weeks & learn, learn, learn.
I'm modelling a few projects on the go -- tonight's focus is on my Dream Guardian. I sold the original, hand made leather mask years ago -- it went to the Peregrine Falcon Preservation Society -- the patron who purchased it also purchased a Robert Bateman print -- I was in some might fine company :)
Feels amazing to be able to resurrect it in 3D in new media...we're having a great old time together, again.
One of the terrific features is the modality -- there are many materials or skins to work models. The same piece in a bronze finish.
Fine detailing is another feature that is an artist's dream mode.
