Tell Us About Your Day

I got up really early this morning because I had Jury Duty. I guess the bad guy copped a plea, and the jury was dismissed. We went home early. I stopped by to visit with my mom, then came home and painted all afternoon. I am making good progress on a painting, and I feel like I have had a good day.

Tell us about your day! ; )

Hi Gene.........Jury Duty..........I'll bet we all have stories to tell on that one. My Dr. write the note that got me off-duty....he agreed that I'd be a distraction in the jurybox, seeing as I shake all over.........especially under stress, and being in jury is a great, terrible , important responsibility.
.......................Today, as you asked, I'm just back from the eye surgeon with good news that the injections into the retina have reduced the pressure and my vision is improving, and then he slapped an angiogram on me, just for fun.......yellow dye into the hand/vein.....no fun at all........and the outcome is that hopefully the vein is repairing due to the trreatment.
Nice to share good news.

i went to the store to buy solarcaine. i got there they had none. i got some eye drops because we thought we some how forgot them in the store weeks ago. i bring my stuff home, jus tto find the drops we lost weeks ago on the couch in another bag, so now i have two of them that will last so many months. i made an exciting sale of 2 greeting cards on redbubble - that's $1.40 in my pocket. then i got an awesome sale of a post card on zazzle for a whopping 23 cents. lucky for me it wasn't a third party or i might have lost that bonus. the squirrel ate all the tomatoes i had but i was able to save them and have them cure on the table. one was a yellow tomato called limony - pretty yellow. i was so waiting to taste it. the name comes from the flavor not just the color - sour as lemons it was, my throat still hurts.

Thanks everyone, just me, feeling sorry for myself today; not to worry 5 of my 6 adult children live all around me. Thanks again!

It is strange however, these things happen to us all sooner or later, but when it happens it makes one feel like they're all alone.

Glad to hear your news Viv.
I am hopefully nearing the end of my shoulder probs, looking fwd to physio today, its been a long process and i am looking fwd to getting into the full swing of some new art project or study, not sure what yet.
It is a beautiful winters day here in Melbourne but Spring is slowly creeping in I have witnessed the tiniest green shoots on the ends of black branches. Enjoy something that you see today which makes you smile :)

Today was a good day, I finished painting two homes and got paid, paid bills and actually have money left over for a change. Packed my truck, we are visiting my daughter for a few weeks. Called a friend to help me load the truck in this 98 degree heat, when we finished he even gave me $300 for gas money. My son in law is a marine and collects guns. He could not ship them to Hawaii when he was stationed there so they were stored at my house. Now he is back on the main land and wants his toys. Just hope I don't get pulled over with all the guns and ammunition in the back, there's enough I can feel the weight in the back of the truck when I drive.

Myrna, sorry to read about your husband's terminal illness.
I checked email and learned a job I applied for was narrowed down to fewer people called into interview, I was not one of them. I also worked on a riding lawn mower and tried to make sense of the owner's manual to track down the possible problem. Discovered the tools I need may not be where I thought they'd be located. The mower still will not start (has oil, gfas, newer battery, clean air filter, clean mowing deck). I did download the newest update of Canon DPP software and played with a few new tools (composite and HDR). I also searched online for local jobs, very few local...many out of the area are temporary, part time, and no benefits.

Today I got up at 7:15 A.M I didn't wake up naturally,I woke up screaming from a nightmare about one my artworks. My wife screamed as I woke up screaming. I went to the park to take pictures with my spouse, afterwards I made a trip to the ranger's station to ask if I could take pictures of their rusty junk. the park ranger gave me a look as if I were nuts, I was not hurt however because she gave me permission to shoot. Once I arrived home I stored away my Nikon, lit up a cigarette and was greeted by what seemed like a methamphetamine user who asked me for a pen.

However after I finished uploading to FAA, my wife made me a fresh batch of peanut butter cookies.

First off, I too am so sorry to hear that Myrna, & like someone just said you are not alone. You have everyone here. I got up, chatted on the computer, mostly thanking everyone for their wonderful comments, worked on my next 2 drawings (so excited about them both :D) ran 6 miles, came back jumped in the cement pond in the backyard (thats what the Klampets call it on the Beverly Hillbillies lol) hung out with my neighbor/friend Now Im here on FAA again catching up & will soon get back to my next drawings. Oh, took some pictures outside of the rainbow & storm clouds & played with my 3 cats too! It was a great day!

Wishing you strength Myrna. It's wonderful you have family close.

Spent a good part of the day trying to get cable hooked up for my 92 year old mother. (she can work the remote better than I can).
Made trips to the customer center to swap boxes and remotes, spent a total of 45 minutes on hold and lost count of the minutes talking to a customer service agent in the call center I couldn't understand. Bottom line.....after all day of trying this and that, I left the TV working with the same indoor antenna as when I came in.

When my wife and I left, Mom thanked me, kissed me goodbye and spryly walked back to her chair in front of the TV. It was a good day.

First of all so sorry to hear that Myrna. May you find strength when you need it.

My day....hmmm.....didn't sleep very well so I got up rather later than planned. Uploaded 3 new images here. Browsed on ebay for a lot longer than I should have........went food shopping and visited my sister. Edited some photos from my recent trip to Paris.
All in all keeping busy and trying not to think about the fact that my eldest daughter is leaving home in a few weeks!

A good day though I think so far.......

A new day, and mid morning here. Taking another coffee break after messing with my painting a bit. I have no major obligations or chores on my schedule todoy. Looks like a great day for painting. I have been working on 2 paintings, alternately, and close to completing them both. I always feel that my latest paintings are the best I have ever done. - Not sure that is always correct.
To those battling sickness in the family, I can relate, and I am sorry, as I can still feel the lose of 3 loved ones in the past 8 months.
Have a good day.

I have been on the telephone for 1 1/2 hours with HP trying to determine why I am having to replace the four ink cartridges I just replaced on
July 3. I dont print out that much to justify having to replace them now, not by a long shot. I replaced another HP printer that I used much more and the cartridges last 4 times longer. I "tiptoe" whenever I print because I realize how costly the cartridges are and I dont print anything unnecessarily. I think I got old cartridges or something. After going through a lengthy conversation with one rep, now I am on the telephone "on hold" with her supervisor going through the same scenario. Wish me luck!

Goooood morning to all. My drugs must be working today. I feel prety well ! lol

My plan for today is to finish the painting I have on my easel. I need to take it, ( & another ) to the gallery.

I am so glad to see the Fall weather arriving, but the heat is still hanging on a bit. It will be in the lower 90's today.

I am just wondering witch relegion of the world believes in hate, revenge, violence, & and war. - None I hope.

Make someone happy today... you will be blessed ! ; )

my day
1. Get up make coffie
2. Bat Room
3 Drink coffie read email, comments on my work on various sites.
4.After that take an upper to get over the depression caused by no sales and mean comments.
5. Pretend I am an artist, and create a piece or so.
6. Decide pool, beach or both.
7. Lunch and or errands
8. Work at being an artist some more.
all the while in the background is facebook nonsense, FAA discussions etc.
9 walk
10. Dinner
11 tv,or movies or more art, sometimes a computer game.

Gene Gregory

Thanks for sharing Dave... It sounds like you are a little down today. My advice would be to never get depressed because of the lack of sales. The lack of sales is very common to most artists I think. When the econemy is bad, art is something most people put off buying. There is no excuse for anyone making a mean comment. Compliments breed compliments. Friendliness makes friends.
If you are discouraged, maybe you need to be around more people. Some ideas about doing that is to get involved in art clubs, Church, community activities, volunteer work, etc. It helped me about 30 years ago when I was going through a very difficult time.
Train yourself to have a positive attitude. Tell yourself every morning that it is going to be a good day. Be friendly to everyone you meet.

Tomorrow is another, and a better day! Blessings to you ! ...... ; )

Congradulations Martha !
It rained here from Friday night to Sunday morning.
I have been watching Texas Rangers baseball. They managed to pull defeat out of victory. ; (

I have not been able to paint in the past couple of days. Not sure if it is the lack of inspiration or what. Maybe I need a kick in the rumpus, or a shot in the arm or something. It is so hard to paint when I am not in the mood.

I hope everyone has had a nice weekend.

Vivian......... It sounds like you had a great time, and we are all mighty proud of you for your good fortunes lately. You deserve the best !!!

It is about 9am here and I am easing into the week slowly. Still having coffee. The local temp was in the upper 50's f........ that is a great improvement for us.

I have got to .......... I repeat got to finish a painting today. My time is running out.

As usually, my beloved friend is by my side, or serving as a foot-rest, ( He of course is the amazing, wonder dog, Jake )

Within the next week or two, I hope to take a photo drive. That is a drive to south or east Texas to explore the paths less traveled, and possibly fine some Fall scenes, or even old barns to photograph.

I hope everyone has a terrific day... & if you have an extra smile, give it away. ; )

Yeah, everyone have a terrific day!

Rise and shine, always think that it will be a beautiful day today. (.....even though I was late for an appointment and forgetting I was wearing my pink slippers on this morning) :D

I'm calling it a night now. I'm almost done with a commissioned portrait, needs a few retouching tomorrow. My eyes are glazing from the fumes of the turpentine. lol

Goodnight, Gene. Goodnight everyone. Happy painting always! :)

Thanks Din......

Heres something you would never think of in the Dallas area. We had a least 3 earthquakes in the last 2 days. A whold lot of shaking going on!

But as a true professional...... I never missed a lick on my painting.

Weird... the planet has been shaking a lot these past few months from all over the world! Seems like the tectonic plates are moving more in this lifetime ...I hope my island won't disappear in google earth someday :o(

Just got back early from work, it's almost 5pm and I'm here sitting comfortably in front of my easel...painting... :D

I remember, a classmate back in college wondered why the ants ate his homework, a watercolor perspective presentation.... he licked it and said, it tasted sweet. LoL

Several times, I've dipped my paint brush in my coffee. Good thing, I haven't tried drinking the turpentine in absent minded confusion. :))

My day is starting out to be a good one. The Fall tempertures are very comfortable and are a welcomed change from the Smmer.
Yesterday, my nephew (by marriage) brought a few paintings back to me that was in my sister Robbies house. She passed away a few months ago, and they are not preparing the house for sale. I saw the paintings on the walls of Robbie's house for so long, it is kind of a sad reminder that she was one of my biggest fans. I really miss her.
I also started a new painting yesterday, so far I think it is going well. Hopefully I will have some time to work on it this afternoon.

I hope everyone will have a really good day, and not take the world more seriously than you have to.

Blessings !

Hello all,

Today I finished a gift painting of a church that I am going to deliver tomorrow. I started it several years ago, and then during Hurricane Isaac I finished painting it. Today I framed it. The gift was a surprise but I called the elderly couple to tell them about it, today. It looks good.

Gene Gregory

Thats great Martha........ but why not show it to us ?

I have had a few busy days lately. Taking care of family sometimes gets in the way of my first love, which is painting.
I am about 93% complete on a new painting. It is a 11 x 14" oil on canvas ( all I do anymore in oil paint).
The painting is of a wall and a gate. I took the photo myself a couple of weeks ago in Sante Fe.

After this short break, I plan to go back into my home studio and paint, ......maybe watch some baseball tonight.

Best wishes to all........keep smiling. ; )

If all goes well today, I hope to finish my painting.

I'm having lots of coffee here today, and strangly enough, I don't feel too bad !!!

Have a great day !!!
