halloween and thanksgiving first, tony!
i like how you have created solid fore, middle and backgrounds in addition to the white that cuts the red/green theme of the season.
Tony, now you really made me nervous. Gotta go shopping.
After tens of years of research China’s famous scholar Professor Gong Yu Hai put forward a surprising discovery:
Jesus is Chinese.
According to Professor Gong Yu Hai an old center empire existed on the earth many thousands of years ago. In this center empire Zhuan Xu was born in 2948 B.C. At the age of 30 Zhuan Xu went west to preach. The religion that Zhuan Xu set up is present Christianity. Zhuan Xu is Jesus’ prototype.
However, about A.D. One, fanatic religious reformers recomposed the old content and history of this Christianity doctrine which caused that present people not to know if Jesus really existed.
Professor Gong Yu Hai has published this special Chinese thesis to describe his findings in detail.

Hey did you skip halloween/harvest season? One of my favorite time of yr . Xmas is too stressful LOL I really want to go somewhere tropical this yr. Yeah right if I could afford it LOL
I can dream during our winter freezing months :o)
I've already starting shopping, it will be here before we know it and I really am sick of last minute shopping, especially with the crowds. Feels like August flew by in the blink of an eye, so I can only imagine how these next few months will go!!
I literally just put my winter stuff away, last week I think, now I am dragging it all out again..
The retailers had halloween stuff out here a few weeks ago. they have to get ahead of one another.. pretty soon they will have next year's Christmas products out before this year's Christmas products.
Let's hang on to summer a few more weeks at least.. it's so short up here, but so nice..
Tony, I think it must be the stuff they could sell last year and been sitting at the back of the store.
Don't forget, there still the Autumn moon festival ( Chinese lanterns Festival) before Christmas.
I work as a card merchandiser and we had to display Halloween and early Christmas cards on Aug. 20th. Have to wait to display Thanksgiving cards until end of September! Crazy thing is people are buying them! On a side note, there are many people who do collect Christmas all year long so maybe it's not a bad idea to have some of our work advertised now.
I worked at Rite-Aid for a long time, and they do like to get a jump start on the seasonal items to give people more time to buy since the economy is so bad. Also sometimes promotional items would get out early, and would ship to us before it was even time to display but we would run out of storage in the back and have no choice then to put some of it out on the floor early. Christmas is a good money maker for retail so when they put it out early and it is already in peoples view it plants the seed, and people start buying earlier because they are feeling crunched for time even though they aren't, or they think they are ahead of the game by getting a head start. In reality all it does is spread out their buying since they are exposed to it longer which means often times they buy more over the length of the season then they would if the items didn't come out until November. Which means more cash for the stores in the long run.
I do, I've done hand made ornaments every year since I was I was a kid, and I will be doing some this year too but a few of my family members have asked about getting some that have some of thier favorite Christmas paintings of mine on them. Is there a way to do that at home? I don't have a printer.
I haven't finished my 20"x30" oil painting on canvas titled, " The Gift of Christmas." I'm only 40% work in progress with this. But anyhow, I'm going to let you take a peep in to it. :P It's also quite huge for my standard. At the rate things are going with my busy schedule, this would take me the whole of September or way into October to finish it. Making the child glow is the challenge for me. :)
hmm..I don't think so Alfred, I think there nearest one is over an hour away, and I don't have a car right now so I would have to bum a ride!! lol That's why I do most of my stuff over the internet at this time!! That's okay I will figure something out. Thanks for trying to help!!!
I have noticed that I do a lot of my holiday art work way a head of time, like I was already doing some of my Halloween and Thankgiving artwork last month and the month before and i'm getting ready to start in on Christmas. Guess I worked in retail too long!! lol I do like to get it out a head of time to get it in people's view and promote it up so that its already high in the search engine by the time people get around to buying holiday stuff.
This is exactly why the first distribution of the Serenity Scenes DVD Demo went out yesterday in the mail. It's to start planting the "seeds" when it comes to a "perfect gift " that is priced right, convenient, easy to send, great to get and to give for birthdays, anniversaries, showers, special occasions, get-aways and holidays. It's great for family, friends, business associates. The Demo provides all of the info about the programs so it is the main promotional " tool. "
And, of course, promoting a "special deal " doesn't hurt either for getting things going.
All this talk of Christmas I find a bit daunting as our first Grandchild will be starting 'big' school in the New Year!!! Oh where have the past 5 years gone she has grown so fast, too fast. She spent a couple of hours with me this morning playing with our neighbours 10 year old daughter and sounded so grown up.
Well happy preparation time everyone just go with the flow and enjoy it all as we never know what is round the corner.
