Seize The Poement!

I would like to see poetry that expresses what you are feeling/thinking at this moment in time. Artistic images are welcome to further express the moment.

Lets call them Moment Poems.

Single Cell

Was the world one, united?
before the Earth's plates slid under our ancestors bare feet?
Dividing us....polarising us?

Are we sliding back together
on the train, the plane,
through the tunnel and chunnel
over the bridge?

Will we become one again
one single cell?

Oh Maria a new thread! :-) ... the title seems to make it invisible for some reason .. like an optical or alphbetical illusion.... lol
There is an organism that does exist as single cells until a trigger.. and then it slowly coallesces into a multi-cellular organism that moves as one.. until it eventaully becomes a plant like thing and sporulates to produce offspring..... anyways...

you got me thinking.. about 'one'....

One

We are one, but we are many
Many in number
Many in battle
…In war
…And in greed.
We are one
One in number
Alone, we are one
One in virtue
…in hate
… in greed.
Alone in shame and
Together, in shame
Together, in pride.
Alone in hate
But many hate
Together in Love
Very together
For two become one, in deepest love.
Alone in death
So very alone
Together in happiness
Alone in envy
Together in joy
Alone in sorrow
Yet, together in sorrow
Together in prayer
And, alone in prayer…

Alone, is the solar sun
Together, are the heavenly stars
Alone is God
Together with the choirs of angels
We are one, when we are at one
We are two, when envy takes our one only soul
God is three, as persons in one
Together we are all,
just one….

We are many, in this sole and wretched Earth
We are but one, in our own lonely pining soul
We are but many as birds that fly
Many as the fish that swim these seas
Many as beasts that herd upon the land
But may be, one day, could we simply be, no longer one?
Could we simply be just nothing?
..To be no more?
No, we will always be…
At one
With One
If we choose
Just One…
To be.

Aah! Great surprises! I am writing just as I am thinking, no more no less, but yes experiential, Ed.

When there was fear in my soul, today
accompanied by apprehension,
I felt heavy, but experience said
you've been through this before,
So i slammed the door
on uncertainty
lo and behold
she talked, smiled, give a little...
her Asperges relaxed
and allowed her to bond
and play,
her smile was photogenic
but I had no camera
yet
I'll never forget
her ease and happiness,
my ease and happiness, and joy
remembering, magic happens
if you allow it..Boy!
Does it happen!

Here I would like to share a video I made with some of mine and my brother's photographs of our hometown, the poem is in spanish and was written while listening to "Bird of Paradise" (Snowy white) hence a couple (only 2) of lines from the song. (The video featured original Snowy white's song but I changed it to avoid copyright issues).

Because the video text is in Spanish, here's the translation:

The Moment,

I saw you flying by (first line of the song :-)
You seemed fleeting
You were only a moment
But in spite, you are still being
Here
Constant
By my side
In me
Sweet Bird of Paradise (song line)
I want with you to fly
Towards Freedom
(Written in sand):
"Live the Moment"
"We are One with You"
You are the space in each instant
Further from time or any place
The Eternal Moment
Where everything comes and goes
You are the Portal
To Eternity

And now the video...

The Butterfly Effect

Butterflies were spreading wings
Clouds are passing by
It's cold outside, but the night smiles
Worlds of words collide
Thoughts are free

( I like the word 'poement', to describe a poetic moment )

Was just now listening to Suzanne by Leonard Cohen, I always love these lines from it :

There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she's touched your perfect body with her mind.

Poements are working!

Oxo, ( lol!) Afteer listening to your butterfly videos and your Antonio banderas sound-alike, when i was reading your poem i read it in banderas' voice...haha...i will always hear that voice when i read your poetry. loved seeing your hometown video, beautiful!

Philip, i really felt that that was what you were thinking at the moment you wrote! Great stuff! the leonard Cohen words were amazing thanks for sharing everyone!

( a Poemoment, while i was thinking and doing, and typed it right afterwards. it made me think that what I decide to do today can make the later reflections
rewarding or not!.....Now i am thinking that the light of day, that first light gives us the chance to choose, as far as is possible, what we will do with our day
and what the consequences of that choice may bring, allowing for spontaneity of course, lol! Hmmm)

Stealing the Sun

While the kuckaburra laughs
I zoom into dripping leaves
while the rising sun beams through the dark trees
I angle the lense, move closer, with ease
Click!
A pattern of sun catches my eye
as it sits on a broad leaf and catches the edge of a petal
I lean in, my face masked by crackling cobwebs
and snap and steal the morning light
entering
my
day
presenting me with reflections
for tonight.

The Poement that was nearly a Noment…

The Madness of a Banana

The banana is a fruit
That I keep at hand
For moments of
Distress, primarily the peckish hunger of mid morning
When the descent of nimble actions
May make one quite... peckish
So nibble, and be nimble
With a luscious, yellow, banana
To avoid the madness of hunger
..Just have a lovely mad banana!

I nearly used the word pecker, thinking it was related to peckish and must there fore be 'obviously' a word for mouth… otherwise known as a ‘gob’ in common parlance… apparently in the UK pecker is slang for nose and a birds beak and ones courage…
… however an audience in the US ‘nose’ that it in fact refers to the mans banana and as such this poe-ment near became a No-ment.

But y not go with a thalic poement too??.. 2 for the price of one!! indeed…

Version 2: The Offensive Pecker and the Banana

The banana is a fruit
That I keep at hand
For moments of
Distress, primarily the peckish hunger of mid morning
When the descent of nimble actions
May make ones pecker quite... peckish
So nibble, and be nimble
With a pecker or banana
To avoid the madness of hunger
...Just feed the madness of the pecker.

Ok That didn’t end right… I m now most certainly off…
Is it Friday did you say?? Well thank TGIF!
Quite risky these poementos... lol
