A poor Autumn here at present. The rowans are a muted scarlet and the chestnuts are a kind of sulky gold but it really hasn't put its heart into it yet. If we get a frosty snap the colours will splash forth from horizon to horizon.
ps - You confuse me. I have studied American culture for decades, beginning with I Love Lucy and continuing through The Simpsons and Futurama... I thought it was 'Fall' and that the word 'Autumn' was never used. I'll need to brush up by looking out some old Fonz DVDs and maybe listen to a bit more Rogers and Hammerstein.
Not yet. 2 week safari coming up beginning the 1st weekend of October. I cruised up well past Pittsfield, Mass. today, the colors are still a solid week or more from being a worthwhile shoot here in New England. Sporatic colors at best. Early indications are that this year will be a magnificent brilliant display
So happy it's fall now. Seattle hasn't seen more than an inch of rain in WEEKS. I can't wait for the weather to cool down and for some nice rain/thunder storms. Here are my autumn shots from the Greater Seattle area:
