Image Search Does Not Show My Images

If I do a Google Image search on Jean Chang Art, I see lots and lots of my works, but they are all from my other websites, and also from Fine Art America. However, NOTHING shows up from my personal Fine Art America Website. When I look at Google Analytics, it shows that url's are indexed, but none of my images are indexed. How can I fix that?

I think a lot has to do with page rankings. If you are well known then a search by your name is meaningful. That said, your own site insulates you from being in the pool of all the other
artists on FAA. Google webmaster tools should be helpful for site map info. Also check out the threads that Beth put out above. I'm still learning so this is best left to others with more knowledge on the subject.

So it looks like my artist website is pretty useless, compared to my other websites. Since all of the Google searches direct people to the FAA site and not mine, no one is going to ever see my artist website.

I just find it strange that I do absolutely nothing to market my other sites, but yet they come up on the very first page of every Google search, but my FAA artist website does not. In fact, when I use webmaster tools, it is telling me that I need to submit a site map. I can't find anywhere on the discussion pages here for how to do that.

I know it only costs $30 for the premium membership, and that allows me unlimited images for sale, so that part is good, but the link to "my own website" seems useless because I can't even get a site map that will help with Google searches. Sigh...

Thanks for all the links, though. I appreciate the suggestions.

Thanks again Beth. I realize this and that's why I'm working on ways to promote. Should have mentioned this to Jean. My BAD. I gave up worrying about. Working on traffic platforms.

The artist website is not marketed by FAA AT all. It is your baby for just your art and, as such, you must market it yourself and FAA give you lots of tools to do just that in your Behind The Scenes

Get your links out everywhere. Only link to that site.

Advertise it

Still can't find mine after registering with google etc. Set it up 3 months ago. Showing 10 hits in analytics. Those were from posted links to friends. I think I'm buried in my own pages.

Hi Mike,

Just to further clarify what I meant. If I Google "hanging fuchsia painting by jean chang", this is what the first page shows:
https://www.google.com/search?q=hanging+fuchsia+painting+by+jean+chang&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

(Sorry, I don't know how to turn that into a clickable link.)

But you can see that the first several hits are for the FAA site, followed by two other of my websites. But my FAA artist website does not come up. (www.jean-chang.artistwebsites.com)

Now, if you're on that results page and go up and click "images", again, my painting shows up nicely in number one, but it links to the FAA site, not to jean-chang.artistwebsites.com. All of the keywords are the same on FAA and artistwebsites, but only the FAA ones show up.

So I'm confused as to why it is that the exact same images with the same keywords all are showing up with links to FAA, but not to my artistwebsite.

Thanks again,

Jean

i think mostly the other site is where you, yourself advertise too and send people too. i'm not sure how well it indexes. i don't think there is anything you can do with analytics. i guess you can try submitting the page into google itself. but i dunno...

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'm just confused because my images on the FAA site DO show up, and those are the same images that are on the personal FAA site (the premium version). Just seems weird that in image search all my stuff at the regular FAA site shows up, but not the ones on my personal FAA site because the keywords are the same on both. And as I mentioned, Google Analytics did not index the images. I was wondering if there is something else I'm supposed to be doing at my own site level to get the right code or something. All of my other websites are working well, using the same keywords.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks again!

Jean

oh and some theorize that because the artist website is just one huge place, it may not reindex the subdirectories (us). it's not like it's a new website.

for google it takes a while to show. you would have to contact google for these questions. i can tell you that you barely have any keywords, and your name isn't one of them. google likes to see repeating words in there, and so does the search here. based on what i saw no one will find you.
