I am a new member and joined today because while searching the internet I found that a photographer had posted an image of a mural I recently created that is being temporarily displayed at an outdoor location. I was angry to find that this photographer was attempting to sell images of my mural. What are an artist's rights in this regard, and does anyone know who I can contact at the site? The mural is pictured below and I am one of two artists who painted "Soaring".
technically the image shouldn't be on here if it isn't there work. and if it's your work you can get a dmca notice to have it removed. you have the right to have that picture removed from them. and you can also sell it here. you can contact support, it's under the about next to news in that blue bar.
i don't think it would be gray, it would fall under the category of statue, or shooting it in a gallery, it's not much different. my guess it the user that did it, was totally clueless that something like this couldn't be sold. i wonder how volunteer wall murals works.
