Greeting Cards

Posted by: Sharon Elliott on 11/02/2012 - 11:05 PM

I wanted to upload some Christmas cards, but I am not understanding how to do this and get the message inside. I guess this shows I am not a computer literate person. Can anyone help!?!? SE

You can't put a message inside.

I got an email a week or so ago that indicated that a custom message could be put inside. Does another company outside of FAA create these for artists?

Hi Sharon,
I am brand new as of today but I believe you click on the card after you've uploaded it. If you look underneath the card on your screen there is a front view, a back view and then underneath that is a red box that you type your message into. I have not made any cards yet so I may be wrong but I believe that is how you do it. Hope this make sense.

i dont know about other websites but honestly wallgreens has a decent fold over card,

choose fold over, then you can put a message inside and a note (or credits) on the back. just made an anniversary card for my best friends last week. looked great!

they are not overly glossy which was nice for my choice of photo.

I did not get that email, but I would assume the custom message inside the card is dictated by a buyer at the time of purchase.

Sharon, I got that email and I believe that is not for FAA artists, but for customers who want to use their own images to make a Christmas card.

I thank you all for your input....it is great to get such fast responses. I see what Rhonda is talking about and I am going to try it. Stand by everyone...I will make a Gallery for Christmas cards. Now I just wonder if it will offer me the choice of selling in boxes of 10 or 25. We shall see. SE

Heidi, I am feeling you are right about that. I pondered that and started to feel that way also as I kept reading and pondering it. SE

Its for customers to put custom messages in, which they can do if they purchase yours or make their own. You cannot add your own to cards others may buy.

It's just for customers to put their text, it really to bad we can't! do it in some ways but customization is a big deal for a lot of people.

That is a bummer, I wish we could put a message inside...but I get what you are all saying. Anyway...I put 4 cards in a new gallery. SE

Why, if a greeting like Merry Christmas, or whatever, can be added by our customers......why can't we order a box and have each printed inside too??? It's just 25 or 50 more than the one/only......surely the printer can run them through for the message to be added, same as fulfilling one/card orders, but bigger? Seems logical to me.
I'd ask the printers directly perhaps.

You can add a message inside if you order your own cards.

Posted by: Heidi Smith on 11/03/2012 - 12:41 AM

If I understand it correctly only the person placing the order for cards can add an inside message, regardless of whos image appears on the front.

Heida is right. When you place the order you can add a message inside.

I ordered a box of my cards from my personal website and the cards I just received have the FAA Logo on the back in the center and on the bottom where it is supposed to be my artist website it had my name.fineartamerica.com. What happened to Artist websites with my name? There was a thread about this issue but can't find it. I contacted FAA. We'll see what they say.

Had I seen a proof I would have been able to possibly have it fixed before it was printed but they don't give you the proof. The cards are beautiful but I am not happy about not having my address on it.

Has anyone else ordered with their own website address on the back?

Posted by: Sharon Elliott on 11/14/2012 - 9:14 PM

I haven't ordered any....I just put some on my website for others. Sorry this has happened to you. I agree....a proof would be nice.

I contacted support and they say I must have ordered from my profile and not my website. I was sure I did order from the website. I placed another order so we'll see if it happens again. I asked them to check it before it gets printed. Haven't heard back yet.

Good information....thank you for the update.....such a learning curve. Good stuff to know. SE

you can put a greeting or message into the card on the outside if you wish, then the client can add their personal message inside

best not to do it as some people celebrate different things or in different countries
