why not just push that thread instead of making this one?

instead of making this very unclear thread of what the intention is using loud colors - just enter that thread and bump it up.

when the link is clicked it is everything self-explanatory. I find the colors and the big font unusually too, but is deliberately used

This is pointless. You posted four different times without any explanation of what it was before someone asked, and then you give nonsense answers. Mike was incredibly clear yet you continue to waste your time, his time, my time and the time of 200 some people who have viewed this nonsense thread. It's spam. Face it. It's spam.
Posted by: Florin Birjoveanu on 11/14/2012 - 1:32 PM
This is absolut no spam. Writing is free even if thick:)
Posted by: Andrew Pacheco on 11/14/2012 - 1:35 PM
I never click on any link that doesn't have some sort of explanation as to where it might take me. So yeah, this is pretty much spam to me.
Posted by: Florin Birjoveanu on 11/14/2012 - 1:43 PM
that would be spam, and without clicking? After all click is voluntary

I think it's trolling. Spam has a point to it. This is nonsense.

I assure that behind these link exists no danger!

listen if you want to call attention to that other thread keep that one alive - not this one. no one is impressed by big letters. more so customers DO NOT COME HERE into the forums. put this in your blog.

about customers and oversized letters was discussed earlier. otherwise one need more arguments!

Florin, you are doing a great job in your group, thanks for pushing everyone's originals.
Posted by: Florin Birjoveanu on 11/14/2012 - 2:21 PM
that's a surprise, I thought I'm alone here...
Thank you so much ELISABETH!

Customers do visit the discussion boards. In fact, some customers are daily regulars on the boards.
Anyone who says customers do not come in here has absolutely no idea what they are talking about, I'm afraid.
Posted by: Mike Savad on 11/14/2012 - 3:41 PM
the amount of people that come here to see the forums is very small. most just look for the art in the search.

Actually most buyers do not visit this forum at all. We know that. BUT, a lot of artists are buyers also.
Still, we do not need another thread about this group :) Let us keep it to this one. Also best not to email people about the group when they have not asked to be emailed.

@Florin,
Just ignore the "Almighty Savad"
Say and promote, whatever you like. Mike does, so why should it be different for anyone else.
Posted by: Gregory Scott on 11/14/2012 - 6:49 PM
Perhaps what is unclear and confusing here is that you are promoting a group here on FAA. That's fine buy your posts should say that, and perhaps include an invitation to either buy, or to post our own. I don't like unclear and confusing. Promotion is fine.

Many thanks for your support Tiny!
I will send you a written invitation to 'Original for Sale' (per email), if you agree this!
Cheers

Sounds good Florin.
George, do you just follow Mike around from thread to thread, defending him? ;)
You promote yourself Mike. Why dump on Florin, for promoting himself and/or his group?
Why is it when someone does something, that you do not quite agree with, it becomes stupid or "useless".
Posted by: Mike Savad on 11/14/2012 - 7:32 PM
here's how i see it - he already has an active group. it makes no sense at all to promote it with another thread. it would be a better idea just to direct people to that source. that makes sense yes? instead of placing huge overly colorful ads every hour, where people are afraid to click because it sounds very spammy. i also don't create groups just in my name, i'll add when someone asks for work. i never said stupid. but this thread has no real educational value. it's not a question or a discussion but an ad for another thread?

This has not only pedagogic value, that is revolution. I can still remember the black and white tv:)

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Have you ever seen Pulp Fiction? Perhaps you need to apply its classic line to your life.
Posted by: Tiny by Nature on 11/14/2012 - 8:58 PM
@ Mike,
Who the hell cares how you see it. If the guy wants to start a thread, who are you to decide if it "makes sense" or not?
Go and create more of your amazing work and leave people alone.
Why does it seem like this entire forum, needs to run according to the ways of Mike Savad?
Who the heck turned your power back on?

Here, here, TBN. Everyone else's opinion is wrong.
Posted by: Mike Savad on 11/14/2012 - 9:08 PM
i'm not deciding anything little one. we like keeping the threads neat, and since there is already a thread on it, it makes far more sense to keep it all in one place - what's it to you? i do recall when i came back you missed me and was hoping to liven up the forums a bit. i guess you wiped the tears. i am Mike Savad, ruler of all. i think i'll go add some digital art composites to the point and shoot group now.

@Florin,
Thank you for the email invite. I just visited your group. It does not really apply to me, but it looks to be well liked and there is some really amazing work being promoted there.
Keep it up! :)

So, tiny, do you follow Mike from thread to thread, attacking him? Just turning you question around. Mike spends hours helping newbies, and not-quite-so-newbies around here.
Here is one example thread I've bookmarked:
http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=908258
What have you done to contribute that much to this community?
I agree that he is out of line in this thread, btw. But this thread has a very spammy look and feel, which I already commented on. I suspect that the person who started it may not be proficient at English, and so his thread didn't come across as intended.
None of us are supposed to "moderate" (tell each other to shut up, for example.) So that might be happening here. And this thread might be a great example why we shouldn't try.
Posted by: Tiny by Nature on 11/14/2012 - 10:53 PM
@ Gregory,
No, I do not follow Mike around. He seems to be everywhere.
I have been here two months and have a career outside of art and this forum. I do not have all day, to sit at my computer and "contribute" to a forum. I did start one thread a while back about using professionals to shoot art, as I was noticing some issues on some galleries. I provided some thoughtful tips and links to a video that helps to explain the process.
I do not have time to do much of that, the same way others do.
Regarding Mike.
It seems like every thread I see him on (unless he started it), he is tearing someone down or acting like rules do not apply to him. The "god" complex gets tiring all the time.
This thread is just one great example.
The one about too many photos in groups, is another great read.
Posted by: Mike Savad on 11/15/2012 - 7:21 AM
i'd still like to see this tearing down i do. if someone asks for a critique i tell them how i see it. most actually seek me out by name. it's rare that i mention anything bad sounding in a thread, but if i see a pointless thread like this i will point that out. just like a few others did, but i don't see you standing on a soap box against them.
as far as your group, as explained unless you add something to the title that explains the group better you can't expect people to follow rules - especially when they don't know what kind of camera they own.

so tiny are you telling us that out of all the time you have after coming home - you use that time to argue and attack people? that's not very constructive. it's like your using this place to vent your frustrations. or it sure it seems that way to me.

If you have already sold your original artwork, you can anyway point here, but as Original-Sold and not only as Print. No photos and no print, except the older art. The artwork must be substantive, so no digital art.

Florin, your invitation is still poorly worded. The word "group" should be prominently featured in the title, for example:
Invitation to join the group "Original for Sale" or to browse the group for original art to purchase
FAA members know what groups are, generally, so that would not read like spam. I never click a link that looks like spam. I rarely read a message that appears to be spam in the heading. Your last post still looks like it could be spam for an external site, unless you read the URLs.
